From streaming films to managing public services, almost every part of daily life relies on digital systems. Data centres operate behind the scenes, storing and processing the information that keeps everything running.

This new facility at 51 Bridle Road will help strengthen the United Kingdom’s digital infrastructure and support the delivery of essential services. It will also attract new businesses to the area, helping to establish Sefton as a key hub for the rapidly expanding digital sector.

By investing in critical digital infrastructure, the proposals will support the local economy - helping to grow business activity, bring in new investment, and open up skilled jobs and training pathways for Sefton’s residents.

The Proposals

The plans involve replacing the existing buildings at 51 Bridle Road with a secure, energy-efficient data centre campus. There is existing planning permission in place at the site for this use, this proposal puts forward an updated design for the build.

The development includes:

An office hub featuring large windows, modern design, and black aluminium cladding
A data centre facility composed of two interconnected blocks
A glazed link building connecting the office to the data centre, allowing natural light to flood the workspace
A substation located at the northern edge of the site

These proposals will attract new investment to the area and provide modern infrastructure to meet increasing demand.

We aim to submit an outline planning application in late July 2025.
